Archived document

These are the service terms as published in the application between 2021 and 2022. CowinSlotNotifier has been retired; nothing here creates an agreement today, and there is no service left to use. They are reproduced as part of the record.

01

Agreement

Users were asked to read the service terms in their entirety before using or receiving any services from Cowin Slot Notifier, an application managed by BitInfinity Web Solutions.

02

Source of data

The application was built on the Co-WIN Public APIs, officially provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

It was an independent third-party application. It was not an official Government of India application, and it was not endorsed by or affiliated with the Government of India.

03

What was and was not stored

Data relating to districts, PIN codes and centre slots was not collected or stored by the application. All of that data was provided by cowin.gov.in and read at the time of the request.

04

Timeliness of availability

Although the data came from Co-WIN in real time, slot availability on CoWIN changed rapidly. Users who saw availability were advised to book immediately, before the slots were taken.

05

Booking and eligibility

Booking was never performed by this application. All appointments were made on the official CoWIN portal, which was also where registration and eligibility were determined. At the time, all citizens aged 18 years and above could register for vaccination on the official CoWIN portal.

06

What the service provided

The application let a person search slots by PIN code or by district, and enabled custom notifications for different age groups and preferences.

  • Search slots by PIN code or district
  • Custom notifications for different age groups
  • Alerts by centre, district or PIN code
07

Notifications

Push notifications were optional. A person who no longer wished to receive them could stop them from the Subscribed Centers menu in the app's main menu, or through their device settings.

08

No medical advice

The application reported vaccination availability. It gave no medical advice, made no clinical claims, and took no part in the administration of any vaccine.
